Three
simple steps to modify and attach a protective
case to your GeXar Hard Body Backpack and Lumbar Pack Harness
Summary
Step
#1 Installing anchor points in protector case fins (one
time procedure)
Step
#2 Determining anchor strip exit slot (depending on size
of protector case)
Step
#3 Attaching case to Hard Body Pack Harness
STEP #1: INSTALLING
ANCHOR BOLTS
Tools Needed for Case Modification
Pencil and ruler
Pliers
11mm wrench
Drill and 1/4” drill bit
1. Located on the bottom
of the protector case are two pairs of skid fins.
Using the pencil and ruler, measure 5/16” (9mm) from the
straight edge of the skid fin and 1/2” (13mm) from the
side-sloping edge of the skid fin. Mark these measurements
on all four skid fins.
2. Using the 1/4” drill
bit, drill through both sets of skid fins. Ream out the
holes slightly with a circular motion
3. Slide the bolts found
in Conversion Kit through the drilled holes from the outside
toward the inside of the case.
4.
Attach the lock nuts to the ends of the bolts and tighten
until flush with the skid fin.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
STEP #2:
DETERMINING ANCHOR STRIP EXIT SLOT
1. Lay case on HB Pack
Harness so handle (folded against case) is flush with
ladder lock buckles up near neoprene sleeve.
2. Look to see which slot
the anchor bolts on the bottom of the case are positioned
over.
3. With a flat head screwdriver
or tongue depressor, thread the attachment strap through
to the appropriate slot on the anchor strip and pull strap
through.
STEP #3:
ATTACHING CASE TO HARD BODY PACK HARNESS
1. Lay HB Pack Harness
and the protector case bottom end to bottom end
2. Thread the attachment
straps through the anchor bolts so they exit up toward
the handle
Thread the attachment straps
around the handle of the protector case
3. Stand the case up and
then lay it down on the HB Pack Harness.
4. Thread the attachment
straps through the ladder lock buckles.
5. Before synching down on
the ladder locks:
a. Pull all slack out of
attachment strapping.
b. Fold the neoprene flap
over the edge of the
protector case handle (neoprene sleeve should be between
plastic of handle and plastic of ladder lock buckles).
6. Synch down ladder lock
buckles (NOTE: If the protector case is not totally secure
to the HB Pack Harness, then the case is not positioned
properly and/or the slack in the attachment straps was
not completely taken up prior to synching down the ladder
lock buckles).
7. To keep the loose ends
of the attachment straps from interfering with the lid
of the protector case, slide strap ends into the velcro
“strap keeper”located behind triangular flap.
CAUTION:
Falling on or against an
HB Pack can cause bodily injury to yourself
or others. Always be aware of your abilities and surroundings
when wearing an HB Pack.
Please use good judgement.
